The movie Ghost in the Shell is science fiction and action film written by the James Moss and directed by the Rupert Sanders. The theme of the movie takes place in the future. The characters of the movie have special outfits with techs in it which makes things like alcohol poisoning something from the past. They have special abilities that make them resistant to accidents that previously would have killed them. After being augmented with the cybernetics, a huge percentage of humans have enhanced traits including strength, intelligence and vision. A secret project of developing mechanical body is established by the Hanka Robotics who happens to be one of the leading names in the development of the augmentative technology.
To run this test development, Mira Killian, played by Scarlett Johansson, is the chosen one. Mira was the sole survivor of a cyber terrorist attack that ended up killing her family. The reason they choose her for this experiment is because her body was damaged that was beyond the repair. Mira, due to objections made by Dr Ouelet, played by Juliette Binoche, is chosen to be part of the counter-terrorism operation by the Cutter, played by Peter Ferdinando, the CEO of Hanka.
The story moves on and a year goes by with Killian attaining rank of the Major in her mission of anti-terrorist bureau and is working with Togusa and Batou under the supervision of Chief Daisuke Aramaki at Section 9. Scarlett has done complete justice to the role. She is what one can expect and future extra ordinary women to be: strong, intelligent and confident. The story moves on with Killian successfully defeating the terrorist operation. However, she experiences some hallucinations that distract her mind. She also is unable to wrap her mind around why she remembers almost nothing about her past.
The story takes a major turn when geisha gets hacked by some unknown entity said to be Kuze, Killian decides to break the protocol and gets into IA to get her answers. This decision leads to a trap where she encounters a deadly explosion which destroys Batous’ visions while living Killian’s body badly damaged. A series of event lead “repaired” Killian to Kuze who reveals Killian how he is failed test subject from the Hanka’s experimental project. He also reveals Killian her experiment name i.e. 2571. Kuze also forces Killian to recall her memories regarding past which as usual is a failed attempt for Killian to do. Left shocked with the information revealed by Kuze, Killian decides it is time to confront Ouelets about the truth which is not going to be an easy one to digest. The overall story and visuals of the movie are close to perfection. The director has done fully justice to the action parts of the film and made them really intense for the viewers. This movie is a treat for the people who love sci-fi action movies since it is not a typical floating the space kind of movie which we finding releasing every now and then.
